Inspiration: Outdoor furniture
I continue to inspire for the great outdoors and the trend that is hot in 2012 is to turn the old into new. Environmentally friendly – just like everything else in today’s society. It’s also really hot to take indoor furniture outside. Personally, I can see myself with a favourite leather arm chair under the closest apple tree :)…
Recycling of teak has also been seen at interior design expositions in Sweden. Very popular is recycled teak from old houses and boats, which is obviously a better choice than FSC-classed teak.
I remember when I painted an old, worn-out garden furniture set out in the countryside where I grew up. It was a big success and stayed in style for many years :)
The biggest piece of advice I can give to those of you who want to paint outdoor furniture is to take care of the preparation work. There are no shortcuts for a good result. Clean, dry, sand properly and the apply a base coat. In this way, the results will last for many garden parties, without flaking.
