The bathroom is a so called wet room in the house where humidity tolerant floor and wallpaper can be the difference between a beautiful, fresh bathroom experience and a mouldy, dangerous bathroom hell. If you’ve had the misfortune of letting a well-meaning but unskilled husband/wife wave a hammer around in the bathroom, you’ve probably see the serious damage that can occur without specially designed water-tolerant floors and walls. But wet rooms shouldn’t only be practical – they also need to look good – like these:

How do you choose a wet room floor and wet room wallpaper? Here, unlike ordinary floors and wallpapers, you must choose with your brain first and then look for that feeling of beauty. Safety isn’t a sexy subject, I know, but when it comes to bathroom floors it’s everything. Altro wet room floors for example are slip-safe during their entire lifetime, even when wet. Just ask your local home decor store about which wet room floors they recommend for safety. Then you can pick out a great design or colour.
And what about wet room wallpapers? The most important thing here is that the surface underneath is properly prepared before you put up the wallpaper. You can also combine tile with a painted wall or with wallpaper. This can give your bathroom that little extra. Remember to get your wetroom approved by your local Master Builder, and if you’re ever in doubt, consult a pro.
